www.live-music-scene.co.uk Review
of 'The Only One EP' _______________________________________ "I may be
slightly bias when it comes to The
Exhibition, as I do believe them
to be the best band on the Bristol
circuit at the moment. But aside
from that, The Only One EP is a
work of pure genius; I just cant
stop listening to it. The EP has
been on repeat for who knows how
many times now; my neighbours must
be loving me by, as it has to be
played very loud so you get the
true sound. If you love The Exhibition
live, then youre going to
love this EP, its captured
exactly what they are like live.
Theres no over producing on
this one, its raw like you
get from them anyway.
My only disappointment
is that there are only four tracks
on there and a video for The Only
One. They are four quality tracks
of, The Only One, Fear of Heights,
Lapse in Concentration and Clean.
I just want more of what I get live.
At the moment I cant fault
The Exhibition, they are going from
strength to strength, whether its
based on their live performances
or this EP. The pure power behind
them is undeniable in each and every
track.
The haunting
sound of Lapse in Concentration
doesnt leave you, and the
keyboards slow it down enough to
show you that The Exhibition can
do the slower material as well as
the heavier roaring material like
Clean. I dont think you can
ever get sick of a voice like Gray
has; it fits in so well with the
material. The Exhibition certainly
know what they can do.
Each time you
listen to the EP, you notice something
different in each track, whether
its the power of the lyrics
or the catchy riffs that run through
each song. If The Exhibition arent
signed soon, there has to be something
wrong somewhere. We need a full-length
album of this level soon. The Exhibition
is rock at its very best, and more
people need to know this."
