Bristol
Evening Post Live
Review _______________________________________ "The
headlining band, The Exhibition,
must have also been dabbling in
the black arts, for they looked
like the demised Bristol bands Halo
and The Vega Method, but they had
morphed into a new band with a new
name, a new drummer and a new sound.
It was a heavily melodic sound and
still very rocky with crashing guitar
chords and great piano work but
they don't seem to feel they need
to bludgeon the audience into submission
any more. There's a new subtlety
and you can now really hear those
awesome, tight three-part harmonies.
There were few tricks and lots of
treats, especially The Only One
and an epic psych-rock song about
ghosts that seemed rather apt for
the occasion.
And for their encore they had a
special treat for long term fans,
a revamped version of an old Halo
song Here I Am.
The Exhibition showed themselves
to be a Bristol band to get excited
about." _______________________________________
